The One with the Hat & Two Monkeys

The morning was one of those mornings…where we did not get out of our PJ’s until 10:30. That sounds really nice and idyllic but it wasn’t. The boys were cranky and taking turns screaming all morning. I’m realizing more and more that I need routine – and part of that routine is getting up and getting ready for the day. It’s so nice to have a lazy morning, but it throws all of us off our schedule which leads to mayhem.

So we went to Target to buy cold medicine and a new toothbrush. Just the essentials, right? But of course we strolled through my favorite aisles and found a few goodies to share with you. Here we go!

First up was a faux fur vest. A few nights ago, I was strolling through Target (weird, I was there earlier this week?) and I was wearing my faux fur vest that is from 2005. I bought it at Gap and it has held up well! Not to mention it’s cycled through a few rounds of the fur trend cycle. Anyway, another woman complimented my vest and I told her it was vintage (aka old). I told her to keep her eye out because Target would surely carry a similar item soon! Well what do you know – a few days later, this guy showed up!

I’m posting a lot of pictures of the same outfit because…it captures the essence of the mood in the fitting room. I want to publicly apologize to the Edina Target for the insane amount of noise coming from our room as well as the amount of crushed animal crackers left on the floor.

I also tried on on (& bought) this hat. I am just a mom, wishing I had more time to shower, needing a hat to cover up my hair. So I found this guy and ended up bringing him home.

Next I found this cream/blue stripe top. It was a little too big, but would make a great top for a casual look with jeans. It was so soft and fit true to size.

I also tried on this cozy sweatshirt dress. I explained this is my Instagram stories, but while I love this item, I struggle to style it. If it were black, I would have no problem, but since it’s navy blue, I don’t know what to pair with it. I think it would be great worn with bare legs and brown booties, but that’s not practical for MN winters. I think if you pair it with jeans, it’s too much blue…and so maybe you just pair it with black leggings. I don’t know – it’s up to you how you want to style it – but I can tell you that it was super comfy and fit great!

Lastly I tried on a top in a rust color – my favorite color of the season! It was beautiful and would look great with a pair of denim and boots or heels. My only callout for this top was that it ran a little bit small. I am almost always a small in this brand, but ended up sizing to a medium and it still felt a tad small for my preference. It also came in a navy blue with multi colored dots. Very cute!

Thanks for following along. I hope you enjoyed the photo collection of the boys – I am sure you can only imagine all of the songs Soren was singing and all of the food Espen ate off of the floor! Aghh!!
