Styling Tall Boots

Hopefully you caught my style session on my Instagram stories where I styled my new favorite tall boots. I haven’t worn tall boots for a few years but found a pair I really love…so I needed to try a few ways to style them and thought I would share with you. Below are a few of those styles as well as any links to items in case you want to shop.

The Boots! They come in black, brown, and tan – see pics below for black & tan options!

First, I think the easiest way to style tall boots is with a dress. It’s easy for work, for a lunch meeting, for dinner with friends – anything. Well…maybe not chasing toddlers at the park, but it works for most situations.

Second, pairing tall boots with a short dress. This is a little more risqué but a great look! You are a little more limited on where you can wear this (pending work dress code) but I absolutely love this look for a date night or for a night out with friends.

Third, wear your tall boots with your favorite midi pencil skirt. This was my favorite look from my styling session! I love the fitted look of the pencil skirt overlapping with the tall boot. For this look, I also paired the fitted skirt with an oversized sweater with a slight front tuck. I think the fitted style of the skirt needed a loose-fitting top to balance out the feel of the outfit. (This skirt is no longer available but here is one of my new favorite midi skirts!)

Lastly, you can pair your tall boots under a loose midi dress (like this one!). For this option, I took an oversized, bohemian midi dress and paired it with the lighter tan color of these boots. I loved the way this option allows a dress to extend into cooler weather seasons.

So there you have it – a few ways to wear my (& maybe your) new favorite tall boots. If you are interested in these boots, you can check them out here (and hello…under $40!).

Leopard, Sweaters, and Hats – Target Try On

Tonight I had to run to the store at 8pm for two very important things. And two things that are kind of gross to put into the same Target bag. What two things, you ask?

Ant traps and ice cream.

Ewww.

But before grabbing my essential items, I swung through the apparel area and found a few goodies to share with you. Enjoy – everything linked below!

Target Try On Session

IMG_6553If you follow me on Instagram you know that I mostly talk about two topics on my Insta stories.

1) My crazy children

2) The newest style items at Target

Let’s face it, I am likely walking through those red automatic doors at Target 4-5 times a week (yikes!) and I don’t remember the last time I went to Target and did NOT walk through the clothing section. I always can spot the newest items – it’s my gift. I’m joking…but also not at all. It is a gift…or just a weird obsession with the bullseye store. I love finding my favorite items, hauling them to the fitting rooms (“Yes, I’d like to try on 17 items, please!), and taking videos of myself talking about said items in 15 second segments (Hey IG! 15 seconds goes FAST!). I love sharing my take on the specific item, how it fits, what type of event I would wear it for, and ways to dress it up or down (if applicable).

But what I haven’t done yet? Share links for you guys. Basically I tell you the brand and send you loose to find the item on your own. I’m not being paid to do this (yet…) – so it’s all in my free time as a stay-at-home-mom. But I really want to get links up for you guys so you can find the items you love!

So if you caught my latest try on session, I’m going to post links to the items I shared in that series. And I say this almost every single time, but I LOVE when I hear from you about what you love, what else you want to see, etc.
